چکیده
Anabarella , a conspicuous taxon of early mollusc, is widely distributed in the Cambrian strata and considered an important link evolutionary lineage that reflects transitional form from helcionelloids to bivalves. In South China, has mainly been documented Yunnan, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Hubei provinces. However, taxonomy questionable, which implications for interpretation genus’ temporal spatial distribution. New abundant well-preserved specimens helcionelloid mollusc were recovered Member 5 Yanjiahe Formation Three Gorges area. Through morphological study, these can be definitely identified as A. plana . On basis this new material, species previously reported literature China taxonomically revised, and, with exception Formation, other should assigned Igorella Therefore, at present, only valid genus limited Stage 2. Study available reveal three types microstructures: convex polygonal impressions, concave polygons, lamello-fibrillar microstructure. addition, thicker shell sub-apical area different structures provide more evidence might have adapted semi-infanual mode life indicate likely ancestor Watsonella

The first tunicate from the Early Cambrian of South China.
Here we report the discovery of eight specimens of an Early Cambrian fossil tunicate Shankouclava near Kunming (South China). The tunicate identity of this organism is supported by the presence of a large and perforated branchial basket, a sac-like peri-pharyngeal atrium, an oral siphon with apparent oral tentacles at the basal end of the siphonal chamber, perhaps a dorsal atrial pore, and an e...
متن کاملEarly Cambrian Pentamerous Cubozoan Embryos from South China
BACKGROUND Extant cubozoans are voracious predators characterized by their square shape, four evenly spaced outstretched tentacles and well-developed eyes. A few cubozoan fossils are known from the Middle Cambrian Marjum Formation of Utah and the well-known Carboniferous Mazon Creek Formation of Illinois. Undisputed cubozoan fossils were previously unknown from the early Cambrian; by that time ...
متن کاملEarly Cambrian sipunculan worms from southwest China.
We report the discovery of sipunculan worms from the Lower Cambrian Maotianshan Shale, near Kunming (southwest China). Their sipunculan identity is evidenced by the general morphology of the animals (sausage-shaped body with a slender retractable introvert and a wider trunk) and by other features, both external (e.g. perioral crown of tentacles, and hooks, papillae and wrinkle rings on the body...
متن کاملEpibionts on the lingulate brachiopod Diandongia from the Early Cambrian Chengjiang Lagerstatte, South China.
The classic Chengjiang Lagerstätte (Lower Cambrian, Atdabanian stage: Yu'anshan Formation) Yunnan, southwestern China, has yielded, besides the exceptional and often controversial soft-bodied fossils, a fauna of primitive/early lingulid brachiopods. Diandongia pista (Rong 1974) is one of the commonest and most strongly mineralized of the phosphatic brachiopods from the Lagerstätte. The shells o...
متن کاملCharacteristics of Fine Roots of Pinus massoniana in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area, China
Several studies have focused on fine roots characteristics because they provide a major pathway for nutrient cycling and energy flow in forest ecosystems. However, few studies have evaluated changes in fine root characteristics according to their diameter. Pinus massoniana forests are the main vegetative component in the Three Gorges Reservoir area and play an important role in providing forest...
